Comments from some of the students :

Relationship with teachers and students

The teachers are like family to me. All of the teachers and students are very close. The classes can be fun because the teachers are trying their best. Also, the school system is perfect.
(a graduate of Trident College of Languages and Hotel in March 2010)

Lodging

I have been staying with a Japanese family. They are very nice and living with them is very comfortable. They always take me walking around town and I enjoy it very much. However, be aware that their home is quite far from the school.
(a participant of Osaka YMCA Gakuin in summer course 2010)

Part-time jobs

You should prepare enough money before you go because jobs are hard to find if you cannot speak Japanese. Even if you are able to find a job, it's hard to both work and study at the same time. Although it was tough, it was the kind of memory a student abroad should have.
(a graduate of Tokyo Foreign Language College in March 2011)

Reflections

Studying abroad in Japan is a great experience. While staying in Japan, it is your responsibility to do things for yourself. However, if there are any problems that you cannot handle, the teachers will help you. Don't be afraid, just go for it! Also, find the opportunity to communicate with Japanese people around you, such as living in a Japanese student dormitory or taking part in local district activities. If you want to study at a Japanese university or college in the future, you better study Japanese well.
