The second “Pasona Club Event” in 2024 was successfully held on Saturday, May 4. The theme of the event was “Japanese Customs: Visiting Shrines”. Participants have learned the basic information about Shinto shrines, when and why Japanese people visit shrines and the etiquette of visiting shrines and receiving amulets, Goshuin stamps, fortune-telling slips and Ema. They practiced how to cleanse their hands at the Temizuya (Chozuya), how to pray in front of a shrine and the way to perform Tamagushi Worship. Yagi sensei explained everything in Cantonese enthusiastically with a lot of gestures and demonstrations. All the participants were very keen on Japanese culture and customs and they enjoyed this 1.5-hour event with Yagi sensei very much.
