On Friday, June 5, 2026, we held the 4th “Iconic Anime Quotes Workshop”.
In this final session, we explored how the Japanese language changes its expressions depending on social status and interpersonal relationships. Participants also learned that directly using anime words or speech patterns in real-life situations can sometimes be inappropriate.
In the second half, participants enjoyed voice acting dubbing, which is always the most exciting part of the workshop. This time, we selected popular titles such as Chainsaw Man, Kaiju No. 8, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Even those unfamiliar with the anime could fully grasp the context because the passionate fans explained the background and character relationships. This allowed everyone to immerse themselves in their roles and truly enjoy the dubbing experience.
Because participants experienced Japanese in a way different from standard language classes, we received feedback such as “It was a lot of fun” and “I would definitely love to participate again if there is a workshop like this.” With that, the four-part workshop series concluded with great success.
